Real-world speedtests

Actual Speedtest results from live event sites around Singapore - unretouched screenshots, not lab figures. Real-world throughput depends on the cell you're on and how busy it is, so treat these as a field sample rather than a guarantee.

5G speeds, no venue line needed

Some events outgrow a 4G connection. A livestream back to the client's HQ, a press room pushing photo sets, a hybrid crowd watching in 4K - that's where 4G starts to feel tight. The Archer NX500 is our 5G unit. Power it on and it pulls theoretical download speeds of up to 4.67 Gbps* over 5G+, then hands them out as AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 or over its gigabit LAN ports. No fixed line, and no waiting on the venue's IT contact to call you back.

We keep two units on the shelf, so a bigger footprint can run one per zone, or hold the second as a hot spare for a connection you can't afford to lose mid-broadcast.

NX500 or MR500?

The TP-Link MR500 4G+ router handles registration, check-in and browsing fine, and it costs less per day. Step up to the NX500 when the event streams, uploads or presents over the network. On a congested show floor, 5G's extra headroom is the difference between usable and smooth.

Delivery, data and power

Every router ships configured with a local 5G data SIM. Plug it into any mains socket and you're online, and we top up the data for heavier events. Feeding a wider setup? The gigabit ports can uplink an outdoor Wi-Fi 7 access point or a venue LAN.

Frequently asked

How fast is it, really? 4.67 Gbps is the 5G+ theoretical ceiling. Real throughput comes down to signal, band and how busy the local cell is. In practice you get a comfortable multiple of 4G, enough for streaming, uploads and a busy check-in counter all at once.

What if 5G is weak on site? It drops to 4G+ on its own, so the event stays online at MR500-class speeds.

Can it feed a wired network? Yes. Three gigabit ports let it act as the uplink for switches, APs or production kit that would rather run on a cable.
