The problem
Why venue WiFi buckles under a live event
Venue WiFi is built for a quiet office: a few people checking email. It was never meant to take a room full of guests hitting registration, badge printers and live demos in the same fifteen minutes. And plenty of sites (outdoor lawns, pop-ups, car parks) have no usable line at all.
When the network gives out, your whole front-of-house goes with it. The door backs up, the badge printer stalls, the livestream drops, and everyone remembers it. A network sized for your event and tested before doors takes that off the table.

How many routers do you actually need?
It comes down to concurrent devices and what they're doing, not headcount. Fifty guests quietly checking email need a fraction of what fifty guests all uploading video at once do. Rough starting points, though we always size against your real floor plan and run sheet:

A floor plan or site map, your run sheet, and a quick note on what the network has to carry: headcount, check-in counters, streaming, cashless, AV.

Our engineers mark where devices bunch up, the registration wall, the stage, the F&B queue, where the crowd gets thickest, and where coverage usually dies: thick walls, basements, wide-open outdoor spans.

From that map we size the routers, place each one and any access points for clean coverage, and pick the uplink: 5G, 4G+, or a wired line with a mobile fallback behind it.

Our 5G router for events that stream, upload or present. The TP-Link Archer NX500 pulls theoretical downloads up to 4.67 Gbps*, hands them out as AX3000 Wi-Fi 6, and runs off a local data SIM with no fixed line. It's the bigger sibling of our 4G+ unit for bandwidth-hungry jobs.

- How fast is it, really?
- Fast enough to matter, though it honestly depends on the cell and how busy it is, since mobile networks are shared. Our 5G router regularly clocks several hundred Mbps in the field; the 4G+ is sized for check-in and browsing. The measured, unretouched speedtests are on the router pages below.
- How many devices can one router handle?
- As a rough guide, one 4G+ router carries a busy registration desk and roughly 30 to 50 active devices; a 5G router adds far more room for streaming and uploads. We size to your floor plan and run sheet, not a raw headcount.
- Does it work outdoors and in the rain?
- Yes. The outdoor access points are weatherproof Wi-Fi 6/7, powered over a single PoE cable, and built to cover lawns, tentage and car parks and keep going through a downpour.
- Can it back up a wired venue line?
- It's one of the most common reasons people book us. A router sits ready as an automatic fallback, so the moment a wired line drops, check-in and payments carry on without anyone noticing.
- Is there a data cap?
- Every router ships with a local data SIM. If you're planning something heavy, a big livestream or large uploads, tell us up front and we'll plan the data and the uplink around it.
- How far ahead should we book?
- Earlier is better for large or outdoor sites, since placement takes real planning. That said, we turn around fallback setups on short notice all the time. Tell us your date and we'll be straight with you about what's doable.
