One socket, one cable, powered AP
A PoE access point like the EAP772-Outdoor pulls power and data off the same Ethernet cable. That's what lets you mount it cleanly on a pole or truss with nothing else up there. The TL-POE260S is the part that makes that happen when there's no switch in the picture. Plug it into any mains socket, run one cable to the AP up to 100 m, and you're done. It passes 2.5G data at full speed and puts out up to 30 W, well above what the AP draws.
Frequently asked
Do I need this? Only if you're renting the EAP772-Outdoor without our PoE+ network stack. When the stack is on your quote, its switch powers the AP directly. Rent the AP on its own and you'll need the injector, or your own 802.3at switch.
Can it power other things? Sure. Any IEEE 802.3af/at device up to 30 W will run off it, though at events it almost always goes out with our outdoor AP.
