The reliable wired handheld
Not everything needs to be wireless. A fixed podium, a spare mic, an instrument you want to mike - a wired dynamic is simpler and there's nothing to charge. The ATR1300x is a cardioid dynamic, so it takes what's in front of it and mostly ignores the room. There's an on/off switch and a detachable cable that runs straight into a 1/4" input, or into XLR with an adapter.
Setup
Clamp it to a stand, run the cable into your mixer or a powered speaker, and you're on. We usually send one for the lectern and one to sit in reserve. Pair it with a Yamaha mixer, and if your host is going to roam, grab the wireless Shure BLX instead.

Does it work with an XLR mixer? Yes. The supplied cable ends in a 1/4" plug, and a 1/4"-to-XLR adapter, which we can throw in, gets it into any XLR input.
