On 20 June we brought ShashinBooth to the Marine Parade Dumpling Festival Celebration, run by Families for Life as part of the National Family Festival 2026 — "Family Begins With Me." From 6pm to 9:30pm the plaza filled with families, the playground stayed busy, and a steady queue formed at the booth.
We were glad to be joined by Mr Goh Pei Ming, Minister of State at the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development, and Adviser to the Marine Parade–Braddell Heights GRC, who stepped in for a photo with the grassroots team — dumpling props and all.
The setup is the part that makes a community night feel effortless. You don't need a DSLR for photos that look good — a sharp 4K webcam (we ran an OBSBOT Tail Air) and a studio softbox do most of the work, since flattering light matters more than a big camera. Custom "Family Begins With Me" frames keep every shot on-brand. Families posed, laughed, and walked off with a printed keepsake before they'd stopped grinning.
It barely needs staffing, which is exactly why it suits a grassroots event like this one. A huge thank-you to the Families for Life volunteers who ran the booth all evening — keeping the queue moving and the smiles coming.
