FrontHAUS incorporates to bridge physical and digital events

SINGAPORE — 12 February 2021 — FrontHAUS is incorporated today as a Singapore technology and events company, built on a single conviction: an event should feel the same whether a guest walks into the room or opens a browser tab.

The company is founded by Shawn Tjai, Jason Chee and Kee Cheng Heng.

FrontHAUS began in 2018 with a narrower idea. The founders, drawn to the arts, wanted a fairer, faster way to sell tickets — lower fees, no hidden costs, and real transparency for patrons, with more of the box office finding its way back to the artists and production houses who earned it.

Then the world changed. When COVID-19 closed venues and emptied ballrooms, the founders set the ticketing platform aside and turned to a more urgent question: how do you still gather people when they can't be in the same place? Over the past year, FrontHAUS has answered it for international banks, hotel groups and Singapore government agencies — running dinners, conferences, keynotes and award ceremonies as digital and hybrid experiences, reaching audiences a single ballroom never could.

The founders don't see this as a stopgap.

"The technology should be invisible," said Kee Cheng Heng, co-founder. "A guest shouldn't have to learn break-out rooms or juggle three different apps. They open one link, and it feels like an event — a lobby to arrive in, talks to choose from, booths to wander, people to meet. If we've done our job, no one thinks about what's running underneath."

Done well, digital and hybrid formats do more than replace the room. They reach further for less, and they open doors a physical-only event can't: live data and analytics, real-time interaction, gamification, and immersive moments built with technologies like augmented and mixed reality.

"The reach and the economics of the digital space are hard to argue with," said Jason Chee, co-founder. "But reach only matters if the experience is good. Our job is to make the online version of an event something people actually want to attend — not a compromise they tolerate."

Incorporation puts a formal name to work already well underway, and a foundation to protect the brand and grow it beyond Singapore. The original ambition — a ticketing platform built for the arts — hasn't been abandoned; it stays firmly on the roadmap. For now, the focus is the thing the moment demands: helping organisations gather their people, wherever those people happen to be.
